Description
Kinver Brewery is an award-winning, family owned, independent craft microbrewery located near Kinver Edge and the rock houses on the outskirts of Kinver, South Staffordshire. Kinver Brewery was founded in 2004 using a 4-barrel (6.5 hectolitre) plant purchased from Brewster’s Brewery. We have since increased production capacity to a custom-built 10-barrel (16 hectolitre) plant.

Kinver Brewery use only four ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast, and water, to produce cask and bottle-conditioned ales. All of our beers are available as vegan, on request. Our hops are sourced from a range of locations including Worcestershire, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, and USA. We are a SIBA-assured independent craft brewery, recognised by multiple prestigious awards.

Cask: half-pint in The Kinver Constitutional Club on 3rd June 2014. Poured a clear golden colour with a good white crown that gave some lacing: A true ’Light Brigade’ beer then? Grapefruit esters hit my nose and then my palate as the beer touched my lips, almost sour in it’s citrus intensity with a dry finish. Not really my thing, but it fine for those that like citrusy golden brews.

500ml bottle. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is yeast, light malt. The flavour is strong bitter with a yeast cutrus strong alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Reminded me of a strong Belgian ale with Belgian style yeast. It’s 7.5% but seemed stronger. Very "un-English" but I liked it.

Bottle conditioned 500ml, shared in De Bierboom on 31st Jan 2014 at the Pre Brugge Beer Festival bottle exchange. This is a pale winter warmer and what it lacks in colour it more than makes up for in flavour. Golden hue to the pale body, white crown on top. Spicy malt nose with a hop bite within the malt based taste. Hints of caramel lead the flavours in the mouth with some spiced fruitiness coming through also. Very nice brew, the alcohol is noticeable but it suits the flavours and enhances the experience nicely.
