Veterans Brewing (UK)

Client Brewer in Brighton, East Sussex, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Established in 2016

Description
First brewed, based at Oban Bay Brewery in early 2016, before relocating to the Dundyvan Enterprise Park in 2017. Veterans Brewing was established in Scotland on Remembrance Day, 11 November, 2014. It is the first UK craft brewery owned and run by military veterans and offering support to armed-services charities.

In 2020 Veterans Brewing changed ownership and is now based in Brighton, East Sussex which is located in the South East of England. We do not yet have an official home, our beer is made by renown local breweries produced by master brewers. Our goal is to reach a stage where we can open our own brewery in the South East and offer more veterans a chance of employment and in addition, support Veterans Charities.

330ml bottle; BB Mar 2020. Picked up in Tobermory while on a cruise. Poured into a 2017 CAMRA Scottish Real Ale Festival glass at home on 23rd Sep 2019. Amber body, red hue, wispy off-white head. Malty, but in poor condition, almost 'flat' in fact. Semi-sweet but lacking oomph and depth. So wanted to enjoy this, sadly I didn't. Scored 'kindly'.

Bottle from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours clear golden - amber with a small foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, grainy character is the main player, buttered white bread and sponge cake. The taste is crisp, initially dry, then pretty sweet actually, oily, grainy, buttered white bread, cereal, bit of spice and peanuts with a sweet, grainy finish. Light body and fine, prickly carbonation. Grainy and sweet.... Not exactly what I am looking for in a beer. Sub-standard.
