Our mission is pretty much monomaniacal: to brew f*cking good beer. We call it craft-y beer because the owl's got a sharp, uncompromised tongue and a penchant for mischief.
On a typical day we toy with the familiar – unfiltered lager, silky hefeweizen and puckery American IPA, anyone? – but at night we explore the crafty beer extremes from our medieval watering hole Haarlem (That's Haarlem with two 'a's, the Dutch one, and the namesake of New York's single-'a'ed Harlem).
Really truly, our idea of fun is abusing the rauchbeer-Scotch ale-sour beer-oak-aged Imperial Stout-Barley wine clichés. The first rule of owl school: when using hops think in wheelbarrows and not buckets.
So enjoy us, drink us and by all means hop fans abuse us right back – ideally via our social media channels where we announce our very active new creations.

330ml bottle, thanks to Benzai! Pours black with tan head. Big dark malt aroma. Taste is strong roasted malts, sharp hops and a liquorice bitterness. Very nice deep dark blend.

At Brewda . Pours black, OK grey head . Smell is peppers , roasted malts , bit bitter . Taste is peppery , intense . The burn starts of quite gentle, but than builds up . Is on the border of too much, but just not quite . Really interesting and well balanced

At Brewda . Pours dark brown, no head . Smell is cherry-like fruity , complex, oak . Taste is bit bitter, cherrie , metallic, dough . Very interesting , but slightly plastic . reminds me very much off Vanilla-icecream , but no real vanilla ... this is really weird, yet enjoyable , and my personal winner of this contest .

At Brewda --- winner alert ! ---- Pours pure black , Nearly no head . Smell is sweet, coffee, oaty , roasted malts . Heavy and thick taste , some butter ( no real diacethyl to me ) , oaty , bit bitter , some booze . The oaky touches get some vanilla in as well ... Absolutely the best beer on the festival . Absolutely a very nice Imperial stout . Absolutely deserves more raves . Absolutely need more of this !

Brewda . Pours murkey brown-amber , good white head . Smell is sweet, fruity . Taste is bitter , funky ( is that brett ? ) , fruity . Very nice . Only when arriving home and entering, I saw this was a low ABV IPA , which makes this even more respectable . Uiltje for the new kings of craft ??? certainly looks that way according to what I had today .

Brewda . Sidenote - upon ordering this beer , it is not nice to call the person behind the bar ’fat dick ’ . Make sure to specicifly mention you want to taste the beer , and you’re not looking for a fight . Nothing happend, but I’d just thought I’d warn you before this actually takes place . BARTENDERS ARE PEOPLE TOO ! Pours unclear yellow / blonde , with a OK white head . Smell is bitter , funk ( cleaning products ) , Taste is bitter , that funkyness again , flowery .

Brewda . pours black / bit brown . No real head . Smell is peaty ( almost ) , bitter , coffee ( i guess thats the peaty aspect ) . Taste is bitter coffee , slightly peated ( or is that also just the coffee messing with my mind ?? )

at Brewda . Pours black, nearly no head . Smell is fleshy , not really as peated as expected . ( side-note, after these tasting notes I learned Arran is not peated ! ) Taste is roasty , full , bit sweet, some slightly ’plastic’ aspect . but certainly alright . Bit bitter .
