tap at hennie's, a new beer bar in platanias (west of chania, crete). hazy brown, smooth beige head. slightly fruity, light roasted malty aroma. fruits are mostly dark dried fruits. flavor is roasted malty, mild roasted flavor, nutty, end has a bit of charred wood, taste is in fact pretty good, if you like a roasted dark beer that is not at all a stout, more southern european in style. tastes a bit like a somewhat roasted german bock

tap at ride. hazy yellow, smooth beige head. mild aroma with faint wheaty and faint bready notes. nice juicy flavor with malts, notes of fruits, pine and grapefruit from the hops. really nice apa, perhaps a litte bit too fruity and bitter - might be even better if a little bit more dry (and still bitter). In any case a very tasty beer, full bodied, flavorful. I can imagine drinking way too many of this one, goes down sooo easy.

Draft at Crop, Heraklion, Greece. Pours pretty dark (but light is bad), with a moderate head of brownish foam. Aroma is weak of coffee. Body is average with intense carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, with average roast bitterness. Finish is fairly short.
