Our real ales are hand crafted with the local palate in mind, and to exacting standards. We take great pride in the production of our products which are brewed traditionally, with no concentrates, colourings or extract and with accent on the taste of yesteryear. Opened in 1995. Moved in 2000 from Gillfoot Brewery, Southerness, Kirkbean.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, toasted, light toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, light caramel, sour fruit notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110318]

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A gusher, producing a big foamy head soon reduced into a finger-thick layer of dense, white bubbles. The aroma has a fruity hoppyness as well as a distinct rubbery touch. Super effervescent on the palate, medium to thin. Rubbery flavor with fruits and pale malts. Sure a beer gone bad, but as it wasn’t past BB-date, I have no other choice but to axe it. 110318

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, white head. It’s quite citrusy on the nose, pale malts in the back. Biscuits and a caramel touch. A bit thin on the palate, with pleasant carbonation. Bitterness, lemon and biscuity malts in the flavor. A rather boring one, but it drinks easily and doesn’t taste bad at all. 110318

Bottle @ Norway/Denmark Tasting, Ulfborg. Pours clear golden with a small off white bubbly head. Hoppy and grainy nose with a marmelade touch. Flavor has an off metallic and oxidized note.

From cask at Standing Order. Pours hazy to cloudy orange with a small to no head. Aroma is crisp hops fruity, slight mango and oranges. Peachy and dry hoppy. Fruity and bitter citrusy to peachy finish.

Cask at Standing Order, Edinburgh, Scotland. Hazy yellow colour, white head. Aroma is light spicy, citrus, wheat, zest. Flavour is light sweet, wheat, flowery, fruity, lemon and melon, hint of ash. Light bodied.

Cloudy light brown. The aroma is dull, maybe a bit malty. Nutty, but a bit phenolic. Not a good one, really, and the second time with phenol issues from this brewery.
