Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of wood, alcohol, rum, oak, vanilla and ripe fruits. Taste is sweetish, roasty and slightly boozy with notes of rum, wood and vanilla. Finish is warming, roasty and wooden with notes of alcohol, rum and sweet syrup. Great, quite tasty but not as perfectly balanced as the regular Rare, as the alcohol and rum notes come through a bit too much.

Taste is complex but extremely well balanced mix of smooth roastiness, molasses, wood, oak, vanilla, whisky, cocoa, chocolate and coffee. Finish is slick and slightly roasty with notes of espresso, chocolate, vanilla and wood. Complex but extremely well balanced imperial stout. Tasty, tasty stuff.
