Can to snifter.
Appearance: copper/auburn color with some transparency and a two and a half finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: caramel/toffee notes, dark fruits, tree bark, light leather and a touch of coffee
Flavor: meshes the previously noted aromas together to a dry sweetness; finishes mostly with the caramel/toffee notes and dark fruits
Texture: medium bodied, nice sipper, pretty dry on the tongue but not distracting as some smoothness tries to roll across the tongue
Overall: I'd say a pretty nicely done English styled barleywine that I would very much to want to have again.

Can to mug.
Appearance: semi-cloudy amber color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace.
Aroma: tart and sweet cranberries up front then some light witbier spicy/semi-wheaty character, subtle grassy to lemony-like hops further underneath
Flavor: leads with the sweet side of the cranberries; subtle tart side of the cranberries is further underneath along with the witbier spices (not much wheat is found in the flavor of this beer); finishes cranberry forward - sweet and tart and a light note of coriander
Texture: light to medium bodied, between sessionable and being a sipper; not exactly that smooth as the cranberry tartness along with the coriander seems to be distracting to my tongue ever so slightly
Overall: oddly enough, this beer mostly works. I think I could see myself coming back to it despite some assertive "feels" on the tongue.

On draft at the Muddy Moose Restaurant & Pub in Conway, NH.
Appearance: cloudy golden amber color with a bar pour's kind of slim white foamy head which slid off at a nice pace to barely leave any lace
Aroma: citrusy and piney hops with some biscuity malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly nice to a bittersweet blend; mild finish of citrusy hops and malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but also some very low key hop assertiveness
Overall: nice little pale ale that the second one went well with my burger. And cool hockey reference, I believe Wayne Gretzky would approve.

Can to nonic glass.
Appearance: black in color with a one finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some adequate lace
Aroma: sweet milk chocolate with some vanilla; dark chocolate in the middle; some roasty qualities
Flavor: leans towards the sweet side through the prior noted aromas, a touch of bitterness from the dark chocolate and an even lighter hint of the roasty notes; mild finish of the combined chocolates and some vanilla
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; some smoothness
Overall: for a milk/sweet stout, it's a bit more balanced than many I have tried where they are overly sweet so many times, I believe Great North did a very nice job on this one.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: burnt orange haziness with a one and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated fairly nice to leave some light lace
Aroma: citrusy, floral and piney hops up front with a nice clean malt base
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas nicely into a slight bittersweet posture: finishes bittersweet through those hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, pretty sessionable; some smoothness but also a little bit of hop assertiveness
Overall: nice enough APA I believe I could come back to.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark yellow to orange haziness with a thin cap of a little white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: piney, citrusy and earthy hops; nice bready malt backbone
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together in a fairly nice bittersweet sort of way; mild finish of the earthy and citrusy hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability; some smoothness with a tickle of some of the hops acting slightly bitter to the tongue
Overall: for the most part, I'd say this was a fairly nice AIPA I could come back to.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: copper in color with a subtle transparency about it - closer to the sides; two and a half fingers of white foamy head dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: some light tones of tangerine and honeydew hoppy tones with a light biscuity malt backbone
Flavor: does a nice job of blending the prior noted aromas to a fine bittersweet quality; finishes with some tangerines and malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, fine sessionability; somewhat smooth along the tongue with a little bit of hop stabs to the tongue
Overall: for the most part, I'd say this is a pretty nicely done IPA that seems like a West coast styled one.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: transparent copper color with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: bright piney to sweet oniony danky and grapefruity hop tones, super light honey dew comes out with more warmth; mild clean malts underneath
Flavor: bittersweet balance of the prior noted aromas; subtle crisp piney to oniony and honeydew to grapefruity tones in the finish
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability to this one; fairly smooth but also some hop assertiveness too.
Overall: I'd say a very nicely done IPA that seems to be coming across somewhat like a West coast styled IPA.

Growler from the brewery.
Mostly clear light golden color with a good sized long lasting bubbly white head. Resinous pine and light citrus with hints of tangerine and grapefruit pith on the nose with some faint sweet bready malt at the fringes. Bitter resinous pine up front almost immediately yields to the grapefruit pineapple and mango hop flavors. Sweet bready malt flavor with a hint of honey. Faint green oniony hop flavor. Moderate level of hop bitterness. I had a few samples yesterday and some this growler tonight, this is a damn fine DIPA imho. --- Beer merged from original tick of Great North Tragically Hopped on 28 Aug 2016 at 19:31 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Can from the brewery, and on tap.
Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a huge bubbly bone white head that persists forever before leaving some nice stickies on the sides of the glass. Big citrus and pine resin on the nose with a bready lightly toasted maltiness to back it up. Light earth and a touch of stone fruit round the nose out nicely. The flavor holds a solid toastiness and light bready caramel malt. Big grapefruity citrus with plenty of earthy pine hopiness. Moderate hop bitterness especially as it lingers long into the finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a bitter resinous mouthfeel. That's a pretty damn good IPA right there!
