This beer laced the glass well as it poured a deep amber beer with a fleeting, off white, head. I expected more assertiveness and was disappointed in this one. A little thin.

Just found this beer for the first time. The body pours clear amber, with a thin off-white head. I’m not so sure what’s "refreshing" about Anchor beers- they tend to be highly carbonated and rather tangy, leaving a tingly feeling on the tongue and a rather bitter aftertaste. This variation is no different. Has a fairly boring cerealy aroma. The flavor opens up with a touch of tanginess, finishing with strong dry cereal notes. There isn’t much here to write home about, or to write Ratebeer about.

Bottled. Interesting variety, not your standard overspiced holiday beer. Seems like a porter base, with a taste of cinnamon, ginger, pine, and bits of wild cherry or sour apple. Brown body with red highlights, brown thin head. Leaves some sticky to lick your lips to. Not fantastic, but still very nice.

I really like a number of Anchor’s beers including this one. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a golden color with a small tan head. There is a mild flowery, hoppy aroma. The flavor has the distinct cascade hop flavor that I enjoy with a surprising amount of malty balance. The hops while strong are not overwhelming. Certainly no death by hops, but then again it is not so one dimensional as many IPAs get. A pleasant drink to be sure.

About what you'd expect. Pale golden, but nicely bright with a firm heavy layer of tight white foam, making for a neat contrast against the beer. Aroma is rather modest, of light wheaty/minty malt. Flavor is more of the same, a light palate with that zesty almost minty wheat flavor. Crisp, bracing hoppy finish - actually surprisingly dry and bitter in the finish, almost metallic (which is something I get from alot of American Wheats). In the end, this beer is fairly bland and light, but also well conceived and executed, very clean and drinkable.

The aroma is sour with notes of malt and mash. The color is orange and it has a fine head. The flavor is very malty in the beginning and has a rather bitter end. The body is thin. All the good stuff from the mash has already been extracted and is to be found in one of my favorite beers: Old Foghorn - so I'll stay away from this one and stick to Old Foghorn.

A clear amber concoction topped by a very thin off-white head. Very floral, earthy hops aroma. Body is caramely and somewhat toasty with abundant floral, spicy, earthy hops.

Pours a deep dark black. No light gets through it. No real head or aroma. Flavor is a musty,roasted carmel. There is the usual chocolate and coffee flavors here which stand out quite strong. Very good and excellent lacing.
