Bottle from craftbeerdesign. Pours black/brown with a foamy 4 finger tan head. Smells like dark malt with resin hop. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is sweetish, smooth burnt malt with some vanilla and a fair amount of hop. It goes stout, hop, milk stout. So it finishes slightly sweet, and chocolate, but it has bitter. Damn different, damn interesting, and damn tasty.

Cask at Brewvival: Mild tobacco, wheat, and candied aroma. Clear garnet brown, medium yellow head. Slightly funked dark roasted malt flavor with subdued candi sugar. Brown sugar finish. Alcohol evident. Good taste, but not as exotic as I hoped.

Draft at Brewvival: Aroma is of lawn clippings, peaches, and oranges. Hazy amber, thin white head. Malt forward pricot flavor, lemongrass finish. Solid.

22oz bottle @Suttree’s Nothing else to do TN Gathering. Thanks decaturstevo-pours a disappearing white head and amber color. Aroma is sweet grain/light malt-caramel, vanilla, yeast, herbal. Taste is sweet grain/light malt-caramel, vanilla, yeast, herbal, fruit, some spice hops.

Pour is a clear copper with a large whtie head, Aroma is of weak hops and a little dish soap. Flavor is really weak, not much in the way of hops just a little caramel malts. Not a good beer and it reminds me of some homebrew i’ve had in the past.

Pour is a hazy tan with a large white head. Aroma is ok with some sugar and roasted nuts. Flavor is a little watery with a touch of molasses at the end as this goes down. I get no real pronounced hops as the bottle told me i should. Its a brown ale..

Aroma: At first, the citrus and pine hops are strong and dominant, as they fade, some chocolate and roasted dark malts come out more, but the citrus and pine hops are still quite noticeable
Appearance: It pours into the glass a dark brown/black color with a lasting, creamy light brown head, the head almost looks like the frothy ice cream liquid that you get atop a partially melted root beer float
Flavor: Taste is both roasted/chocolate malts and citrus/pine hops, leaning a touch to the bitter side
Palate: This beer is creamy and smooth, basically full-bodied, with a relatively low level of carbonation
Overall Impression: This is a well-balance Imperial Stout with a big hop presence, almost leaning toward being a Black IPA. I can see why some people might not favor such a strong hop presence is this style of beer, but I think it works really well. A very nice offering from Sweetwater, I have really enjoyed the new (and old) beers I have had the opportunity to taste on this quick trip down to Alpharetta. I think GA is definitely an underrated beer state, I never think of them, but they have a few really solid breweries.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with an off-white head. Aroma has a biscuit/grain aroma with hints of grassy hops. Flavor is sweet from the malts as well with biscuit and grains with a slight grassy hop undertone.

Clear amber pour with a moderately sized off-white head. Light caramel aroma with spicy floral notes. Lightly sweet; the flavor closely follows the aroma. A light Belgian Style ale. Maybe could use a bit more complexity, but not bad overall.
