Atlanta Cask Ale ’08. Pours fairly clear dark amber with a small, fleeting off-white head. Complex aroma malty caramel, dark fruits. The flavor follows the aroma with an oak dryness. Nice one.

A good spiced beer. Malt flavor and malt aroma complimented by spices including cinnamon, nugmeg, and just a hint of pine.

1 L. bottle shared by Dansting at my Holiday Mini Tasting. Pour is hazy red copper with pretty much no head, just a few soap bubbles that cling around the edge of the glass. Aroma of some caramel biscuit malt with some hoppiness. Taste is big sweet caramel malt, with a thinner body than expected. There is a bunch of citrus fruit hoppiness in the taste as well. Well put together, alcohol is well masked in the flavor. Big thanks to Dan for sharing this one.

Black color. Quite intense aroma. Good body, good caramel-roasted malt mix, balanced, just the final is a bit thin. Not bad.

Madness@the Moose YEHA. 1 liter bottle provided by goldtwins. Aroma is sticky from both the malts and hops and lots of caramel. Taste is a bit watery with what has come to be a generic hoppy barleywine nowadays.

Bottle. Very nice peach, apple and strong malt aroma - only a hint of alcohol. Cloudy reddish amber color with nice big head. Slightly sweet peach/apple and malt flavor up front with a citrusy hops finish. Alcohol well hidden. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to my friend bringing some back this way. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium sized head. Aroma is of citrus, pine, and hops. Taste is very very crisp! Grapefruit, and other citrus notes, along with a long lasting finish.

Big full head over a deep orange/amber clear body. Piney, with a full underlying malt base. Well balanced, not overly sweet or cloying. Should age nicely and be a smooth treat. Worth a re-rate down the road.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pours completely opaque black with a dense and creamy, off-white head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Full body with burned, coffeish accents. A little fruitiness and even a slightly perfumy touch. Malt bitter finish with also some alcohol showing. 171107

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is also sweet with strong notes of coffee and chocolate, but also with a slight acidity from the hard roasted malt and the coffee note, and hints of cocoa beans, leading to a dry roasted finish.
