Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Golden, hazy and flat. Astringent note but there’s a fair bit of fruit to be picked up on in the nose. Sharp tart taste, a hint of vinegar with a medicinal kick. Medium to long sour-laden finish but there’s a pleasant sweeter let-up right at the end. Cider vinegar in the boozy aftertaste. Not one of the best ciders around but worth trying.

Gravity at the Drayman’s Son, Ely at 6.5%. Gold, clear, flat, ominous. Sweet aroma of honey, pear drops and brandy. By contrast the finish is sharp, dry, sour and tangy with crabapple and candy sours. Finishes uncompromisingly tart. Good in its way but maybe too intense for me.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Hazy pale yellow color, no head. Smell and taste is nicely balanced between the sweetness and dry apple flavors. Average to decent body and carbonation. Nice.
