Description

(bottle, courtesy of bierkoning – thanks !) Dark and hazy ruby red colour with a mid-sized foamy beige head. Dusty and yeasty nose with fruits (dried prunes, cranberries) and caramel. Sweetbitter flavour, medium bodied, lively carbonated. Initially moderately sweet malty taste with a dense roasted touch, caramel and a fruity tinge. Yeasty and malty, slightly bitter and tart finish, which is not very round. All in all still okay.

(bottle) Hazy golden colour with a big and stable foamy white head. Yeasty and spicy aroma with honey and a lactic note. Moderately sweet malty and citrus fruity taste, medium to light bodied, crispy mouthfeel; dry and slightly bitter taste with spice and a dense but distinctive hoppy and lactic note. Many thanks to bierkoning for the sample !

(bottle) Hazy orange to amber colour with a short yellow foamy head. Elegant fruity and smoked malt aroma. Moderately sweet and initially soft smoked malty taste with a fruity touch, medium bodied, almost lively carbonated; dry and strong smoky meaty finish. This one is much more “franconian” than the Veenrook by De Gouwe which I had before, but has also its own elegant fruity character. Dank u well, bierkoning !

(bottle, from bierkoning) Hazy amber colour with a beige foamy medium head. Dusty, moderately sweet toasted malt aroma with notes of caramel and citrus fruits. Sweet flavour, sweet malty taste, medium body, fizzy carbonation, dry and yeasty fruity and light bitter finish. Nice looking brew with an aromatic nose, that lacks a bit character.

Bottled, alc. 10%, 30 cl
Hazy dark nut brown, like mud. Not much head. Aroma has molasses, chocolate, coca cola, candy and spices - really parfumic. Medium to full-bodied. Strange mixture of licorice, vinegar, like drinking sweetened Jägermeister. Great and unique taste.

Reddish-amber, hazy; small cream-coloured head. Gelderse Ringworst ( a Dutch light-smoked sausage), bit of cigarette ash. Nice, meaty, smoked taste, also a bit fruity, fruity esters. Quite well-bodied, and, sorry, fleshy. Very good, and original Rauchbier, different from the Bamberg ones, but not inferior in any way.

Hazy chestnut-amber; small tan head. Nose like frying pancake dought, already with the brown sugar on; buckwheat - and diacethyl, though not disturbingly so. Light, fizzy MF, a bit bready flavour, and some malt. Disappointing - like drinking that many fizzy lemonade one doesn’t taste the pankcakes anymore.

Slightly hazy golden color, short lasting head. Aroma of caramel and amber malt, some orange maybe. Sweet taste, wheat and yeast, bit peppery indeed. Slightly bitter aftertaste, sticky palate. --- Beer merged from original tick of Scheerse Triple / Tripel on 19 Jul 2013 at 09:23 - Score: 7. Original review text: Late checkin, van tap bij de drie dorstige herten. Prima spul
