On tap at DRBT. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roasted malt, dark chocolate, wood, smoke. Medium body, rich malt, chewy, dark chocolate, ash, tobacco, nice bourbon heat, enjoyed this.

This brew is a clear brownish-mahogany color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily. Aroma of malt, hops and caramel. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, earthy hops and caramel. The finish is sweet with a roast malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

750 ml bottle andyou’re gonna need a corkscrew.

A: Dark brown with reddish hues, let me call it mahogany. Foam is near nonexistent but there is some carbonation.

S: Fruity sour, some black cherry and dark pitted fruits. A bit of wood and funk.

T: Wood is pronounced as much as the sour fruits. Funk is there, a wine like dryness appears and lingers throughout.

M: Light bodied in my book, sufficient carbonation.

O: So, never heard of a Flanders Brown from Grimm Brothers? Now you have.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a very nice blonde ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very unique beer; tastes like a cross between Kolsch, Wheat, and Blonde ale styles. A very enjoyable offering.

Corked and caged 750 ml bottle.

A: Murky dark brown, tiny appearance of foam which ends up a ring around the glass.

S: Bourbon, caramel malt, vanilla, semi sweet overall.

T: Bourbon taste is hefty but so is the caramel malt. Notes of vanilla and chocolate and toffee peek through at various times. As big as the abv is, it could have come across way bigger than it does. Impressively impressive.

M: Lightly carbonated, not overly thick in the body, it has a desirable smoothness almost creamy.

O: Noted as a German Barleywine, I placed it the English BWSA category as the level of bitterness is very low. Excuse me while I sip and savour the rest of the bottle.

This brew pours nearly black with some reddish-brown around the edges, and a medium beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Light to medium body with a roasty malt and coffee character, with some bittersweet chocolate in the background. The finish is charred malt and coffee. Decent overall.

Draft pour pint at Taphouse, Seattle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with no head. Starting to have a thing for cucumber beers. Just an instant refreshment involved, though I’ve only really enjoyed the cucumbers in the one style. Moderate aroma of a tart fruit. Flavor is a bit tart as well, very refreshing, mixed fruit, and a dominant cucumber quality. Advertised correctly. A wheat lingering finish. Almost nutty as an end result. Interesting beer here, unique, and very tasty.
