Description
In a region renowned for delicious local produce and divine taste experiences, Bowness Bay Brewing have been producing a range of hand-crafted traditionally made beers using the famous Lake District water to create the freshest, cleanest beers around.

First brewed March 2012 initially based in Winster, Windermere. The brewery moved to its site in Kendal in Summer 2016, since then expanding several times.

Bottle shared with Grumbo: Poured an amber red with a tan frothy head. Aroma is peppery hops, malty, caramel. Taste is bitter hops, toffee, caramel, malty, little earth.

25/7/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at our second Cumbrian bottle share. Pours clear dark amber with a bubbly/frothy off-white head. Aroma of spicy hops, malt, toffee, fruit and biscuit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, average to soft carbonation. Earthy finish. Best of the day for me.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Fawn head. Nose - black jacks, light smoke. Taste - molasses, liquorice and more smoke. Palate - close to medium bodied. Dry, roasty middle and finish. Overall - not sure it's a black IPA, but it is a good dry stout.

27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours clear bright pale gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, berries, flowers, malt and a touch scented. Moderate sweetness and moderate to medium bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Nice, refresher beer.

27/6/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at the Cumbrian 20 bottle share. Pours clear golden amber with a bubbly/frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, butter, hops and a touch of resin. Medium plus sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Grower. Nice sweet finish.

Bottle thanks to Grumbo: Poured a golden with white head. Aroma is grain and some mild hops. Taste is buttery, bitter some malt backbone. Lingers around the palate.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - golden with generous lacing. Nose - lemon and biscuit. Taste - same again. Brown bread. Palate - light bodied, creamy yet crunchy texture. Dry, crunchy finish. Overall - good example.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - golden and bright. Thin lacing. Nose - honey and lemon. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied and reasonably fresh on the finish though would like a little more bitterness. Overall - it's fine. Very much like others in the style.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - golden with generous lacing. Nose - peach and lemon. Taste - more of the peach and lemon. Then a spice from the hops thing going on too. Palate - light bodied, long and crisp. Overall - really great balance to this beer with good use of bittering hops.
