Description
Since 2006, Old Monty Cider has been crafted in Mid-Wales using only traditional methods and the finest hand-picked apples. In this time we have won multiple awards for our ciders and perries, and we currently hold the title of Champion Cidermaker of Wales.

On tap at Robin Hood Beer Festival 2019. Hazy orange, no head. Fruity, apples, medium tartness, some rum. Medium bodied.

Sample courtesy of minutemat, cheers Mat! Golden colour, afew bubbles on top and aroma of woody apple, vanilla hints. Taste is sweetish, fruity, apple, with some light mellow funk, oak and vanilla. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium dry finish. Quite drinkable.

Polypin @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2019, Day 2. Pours a misty golden yellow. Aroma is lightly woody perry pear fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, syrupy with a firm tang. Decent pure fruit perry.

Polypin @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2019, Day 2. Pours misty gold. Nice moderately rich high juice character with some floral, woody hints. Restrained acidity. Decent.

BIAB at 2018 Welsh Perry & Cider Festival, Caldicot. Golden colour, no head and fruity pear aroma. Taste is sweet, oily, pear with some vinegary funk and drying tannin. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, semi-dry finish. Quite OK.

Gravity dispense (bag-in-box) @ GBBF 2016, [ Great British Beer Festival 2016 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Old Monty Happy Medium ].Clear light to medium orange yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy apple, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, apple, wood, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. [20160809] 7-2-7-3-14

20 cask at GBBF 2016 .. Golden amber... Thin white lacing soft sweet apple pie nose... Soft sweet apple.. Big fruit.. Light dry apple

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Clear golden color. Smell and taste apples, sweetish, some sugary notes. I like it actually.

Gbbf. Fast klare goldene Farbe. Geruch nach reifen süßen Äpfeln, mild säuerlich. Geschmack mild säuerlich fruchtig, reife Äpfel, leicht holzig.

Half-pint jug @ Shrewsbury Food Festival 2015. Pours hazy gold. Aroma is sweet perry pear juice. Taste is super-sweet, a bit too much so with desert apples and a tart, astringent edge. Not too keen on this.
