33 can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark plum with very limited light brown foam, when shaken. Aroma is toasted, caramel, toffee, vanilla, liquor-like. Body is dense with tickling carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet from the bourbon barrel ageing, with some appreciable bitterness. Some level of sour. Finish is long and pleasant.

Draft at Acido Acida, in Ferrara, Italy. Pours almost black with no foam. Aroma is toasted, suggesting barrel ageing and brettanomyces. Body is highly dense with virtually no carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet with some sour. Wonderful. Finish is long and sweet.

Draught @ Hop City 2018, Leeds. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of bourbon, roasty malts, licorice, bretta and vanilla. Taste is smooth and roasty, slightly funky with some farmyard, tartish notes, bretta, bourbon, wood and oak. Finish is smooth and sweetish with some funky yeastiness, wood, bourbon and vanilla. Interesting. A nice palate cleanser after all the hoppy beers. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Agent (with Brett) on 30 Mar 2018 at 15:06 - Score: 8. Golden with thin soapy head. Aroma and flavour are very much 'pale lager'. Something soapy/floral/funky in the aroma ?

Brown with soapy head. Aroma has a lot of wood and vanilla. Flavour is similar. Although sweet the wood adds some dryness and spiciness. A bit thin and watery for the style.

Black with soapy head. Aroma of Brett funk and white wine/grapes. Texture is thick and oily. Flavour is pleasantly boozy and there plenty of sweet Bourbon and bitter dark malts.
