Description
Round Tower began brewing early 2013, the first brewery in Chelmsford since 1974. Started on a small scale but expanded to a brew length of 5 barrels.
Produce a constantly changing range of hop forward pale ales alongside seasonal brown beers, with only a Stout and a Black IPA as regular beers.

Cask gravity at the pigs ear beer fest 2016. A dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a halo of dirty tan head. Aroma is tangy apple, solvent, toffee, burnt toffee. Flavour is composed of semi sweet brown brown toffee, black malts liquorice, cola, sticky burnt unrefined sugars. Palate is medium sweet milky, tangy little spicy.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2016. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The aroma is smooth, rich roasted malt, unami, chocolate cake, umami, toasty, wood, light vanilla and umami. The taste is smooth, toasty, umami, rich roasted malt, fruit cake, meaty, charred wood, fruit cake with a dry, chewy finish. Medium + body and soft carbonation and chewy finish. A bit drying and chewy. Fair.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2016 - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Interesting aroma, some roast, dry cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with hints of toasted coconut, ash, baking cocoa, raisins. Medium bodied with average carbonation; good condition. Finaihes with some burnt sugars, baking cocoa, scorched earth, dried berries. Good one.

Cask gravity at the pigs ear beer fest 2016. A clear pale golden coloured pour with a a loose white head. Aroma is Sweet decent floral citrus hop notes, juicy fruits, pale grains. Flavour is composed of pale golden, straw, floral citrus hop, straw, lemon. Palate is semi sweet, spritzy carbonation. Fruity finish. English yeast esters.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2016 - London. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma has semi-ripe citrus, some or age peel, a little farty yeast, pale grains. Light sweet flavour with further grainy malts, faint leafy and rindy bitterness, orange peel. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finaihes with crispy pale malts, further citric hops, pale grains. So so.
