Bottle split at Chris & Ruth’s pre GBBF Shindig, 07/08/16. Light black with a handsome tan head. Nose is chocolate, spice, charr, roast malt. Taste comprises earthy roast, toffee, dark chocoalte, light charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout but doesn’t deliver on the ABV offered.

Bottle shared at the pre GBBF chriso’s tasting day 2 07/08/2016. Thanks! A reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a lively frothy tan head. Aroma is soy, roast, umami, choc tangy dark fruits,. Flavour is composed of bitter dirty choc, dark choc, coco powder, dried fruits, raisin, nutty. Palate is medium full rounded, airy, decent.

Cask at GBBF ’16, day 2, 10/08/16. Pale golden blonde with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pale malts, earthy fruit shmack, bread dough, lemon rind, straw. Taste comprises melon, citric tinged straw, bread dough, toasted grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so golde.

Bottle at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig, 2016 (Sunday sesh.). Black pour with a beige head. Raisin, vanilla and toffee aroma. Coffee, chocolate and licorice toffee flavour. Very tasty.

Cask at GBBF 2016 09/08/2016. A yellow straw coloured pour with a lasting thin sticky white head. Aroma is big grassy hop, hedgerow hop, brambles, raw grains. Flavour is composed of light straw hay, grassy earthy hop. Palate is light grainy, lowish carbonation. Good

Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Opaque black - brown beer, short dark tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Nice condition. Tangy rich dark malts, good dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits, sweetish. Mild alcohol spice. Mild estery sweetness. Dark chocolate finish. I was still feeling the effect of the massive Wibblers Wobbly Otter but I recall the brewer saying something about Courage and this beer does have a Courage Imperial Stout vibe. Rich and drinkable.
