Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

Clear deep ruby red beer, small creamy pink head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Arom: funky, quite some diacetyl, floral, lavender, weird… MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sour start, soapy, tannins, red berries, nice acidity, little bitter. Aftertaste: dry, spicy, soapy touch, red currants, meh…

Can, 14C. Appropriately sized: 330ml is plenty big enough for a 15% ABV beer even in the unlikely event that one is sharing. Very black with a dense cm of tan head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of mocha, heavy roast, vanilla, Indian sweets, blackberry reduction, brioche. Smells big but there's no overt booze. Silky, lowish carbonation. Rich and somewhat sweet but nothing over the top. Bitterness swells to match the richness and the finish is slightly spicy with a tiny tickle of alcohol. I've thought normal iStout sound but a bit anonymous for a biggish stout and was hoping this would be a bit off the chain: it is but remains well mannered albeit deep and powerful. Superb.

Well stored bottle. Black body under a small beige head. Quite mild but pleasant aroma, dark malt, coffee, mild wood and hint of grapes. Taste is very pleasant with more distinct flavors than expected from aroma. Otherwise much the same, smooth roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, wood and red wine. Fine body and nice aftertaste that ends with a slightly acidic touch. Very nice and tasty with well masked alcohol.

Can at home. Pours a cloudy bronze colour with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, pineapple, bread, thyme, wet basement and grass. Flavour of pine, grass, grapefruit and some caramel. Has a slick and slightly soft mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Fruity and hoppy. More IPA than NEIPA.
