About
We are Boutilliers, a small brewery based around the back of a farm shop in Faversham (Macknade fine foods if you were the curious sort.) Originally founded by 2 former uni buds, Boutilliers is now run by Rich, a former english teacher, and Drew, professional loud mouth. Our core focus is to brew creative styles and innovate with the resources we have to hand. When possible we like to use produce from local companies including tea and hops but we’ve not limited ourselves to this philosophy. Beer is an infinitely sprawling landscape with an equal number of potential possibilities, we don’t wish to simply make the same beer every time we brew, we want to explore, we want to play, we want our beer to be fun.

Closure announced on December 13th 2022.

Bottle at Made Inn Ashford. Hazy gold colour thin white head. Mango pineapple fruity aroma. Some tea I guess. Some sweetness in the malts. Yes settles down a bit. Fruity. A bit fizzy .Good enough. I liked the lasting mango pineapple fruit flavour. So a fruit beer? Yes I guess so. Some yeast Bit all over the place.

Can from the Grumpy Goat, Reading. Lightly hazed gold with a thin white head and a middling fizz. Lemon, grass, a touch of spice, a hint of butter in the finish. Light, crisp and clean. Not bad, quite enjoyed this.

Target, Bullion, Goldings, Northern Brewer, Ernest and Olicana hops. Hazy dirty looking amber beer, good cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light dry malts, little creamy sweetness. Nice light strawberry, mild elderflower and pine. Trace of tropical fruits and a touch of citric peel. Light finish. Nice enough. With a robust hop profile like that though, might have been an idea to see how they stand on their own.

Hazy gold beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, fairly dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Light and fairly dry pale malts. Modest sweetness. Mild pine. Pithy hops. Some hops spice. Touch of tangy peel. Light dry finish. Don't hate this but there are so very many other better brighter IPAs available at any given time that I'm struggling to find any reason I would elect for this one.
