Description
We are Boutilliers, a small brewery based around the back of a farm shop in Faversham (Macknade fine foods if you were the curious sort.) Originally founded by 2 former uni buds, Boutilliers is now run by Rich, a former english teacher, and Drew, professional loud mouth. Our core focus is to brew creative styles and innovate with the resources we have to hand. When possible we like to use produce from local companies including tea and hops but we’ve not limited ourselves to this philosophy. Beer is an infinitely sprawling landscape with an equal number of potential possibilities, we don’t wish to simply make the same beer every time we brew, we want to explore, we want to play, we want our beer to be fun.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 32A/15C). Can 33 cl (batch unreadable - BBF unredable). AROMA: medium-high coffee-and-cream aroma with notes of coffee, slight chocolate and a slight nutty and smoky wood presence. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color with ruby body against light. medium tanned head, moussy, with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with notes of smoked wood, coffee, nutty and dark chocolate. medium to medium-high bitterness with a semi-dry and roasted finish. PALATE: medium to medium-high body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice extra stout with an added smoky wood-like note.

Bottle from Moonshine Billy Ramsgate and drunk on a picnic blanket. Murky dirty brown colour lasting cream head. Some sweetness. Some red berry and chocolate. I mean not a NE ipa. Sweetness in malts. Some bitterness on the finish. A bit all over the place but it's a red berry sweetish ipa. Fine but not what I was expecting.
