Can from Speciaalbier Café De Markies, Leeuwarden. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, coffee, liquorice, and espresso. Moderate sweet flavour, roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. Good basic Imperial Stout, roasty, some liquorice. Expected a bit more, but good.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is lots of caramel malt with oak, raisins, toffee, dried fruits, notes of figs. Sweet, mild to medium boozy, bit sticky and syrupy. Above medium body. Pleasant.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is citrussy and piney hop with malt, grapefruit, pine resin, tropical fruit. Flavour is above medium bitter and light sweetish. Medium body. Piney and fruity, good bitterness.

Canned, from Systembolaget. Lightly hazy golden, mid sized head. Grapefruity nose. Mid sweet with light to medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Grapefruity hops on slender malt. Long piney bitterness.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 26 Oct 2024) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, pineapple and tropical fruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, lemon peel, pineapple, grass, oat crackers and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, dry. Hoppy and refreshing. Nice one.

Pours hazy yellow with a weak head. Sourish aroma with nettles and kiwi. Sourish flavour with grapes, nettles, kiwi and white wine. Refreshing.

330ml can. Darkest brown colour with weak ruby shimmer and small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Minimally toasty and nutty, dark malty aroma, a touch of hazelnut, toasted nuts, whiffs of praline. Taste is slightly toasty and nutty, dark malty with low residual sweetness and weak chocolately aspects, a touch of praline, hazelnut, toasted nuts, mildly bitter, minimally leafy, hoppy overtones.
Minimally oily-watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium to fine, dense, soft, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Balanced and harmonious, a bit cautious - OK.
