Bottled. Dark mahogany colour, creamy head. Roasty and nutty, lots of dark chocolate. Medium dry and medium bodied. Salty finish with come cocoa bitterness. Really good (at least efter drinking a variety of beers from Harboe and Vestfyen...).

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge light orange/yellow head. Malty aroma, faintly as fruity hoppy as I had expected, slight spiced nose too. Flavour starts medium sweet, quickly turns into a more spiced bitterhops flavour with a solid and strong malt base. Bitter finish with a mild orange fruity note. Classic Virklund dense herbal and dry malty finish with a dry bitterness.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a dense off-white head. Caramel malty, slight spiced and light fruity aroma. Flavour starts sweet caramel malty, reveals a little spice note and a very mild smoke/meady note too. Flavour holds a complex mix with some belgian yeast tones and mild English tobacco like hops all swept in a sweet caramel malty blend. Mild lingering finish with little bitterness. Somewhat undefineable mix but not bad.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge off-white and collapsing head. Fruity hops and caramel malt aroma. A very tasty yeast note beneath providing a rather mellow feel and flavour to the brew.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, dark amber with a rough, off-white head. Fruity and somewhat floral aroma also with quite some acidity - but definitely not in an infected manner. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel accents and some flower imprints before a surprisingly bitter finish. There’s actually some leathery astringency - almost Orvallish. Quite a different take on a Christmas beer - less christmasy perhaps, but quite interesting. 221207
