Svalbard is such a place. The northernmost habited island in the world, and a final frontier for the most enduring of species. A world frozen in time, sustained by mutual respect and symbiosis between man and animal – all at the mercy of the elements. A haven for those who live to disprove that which seems impossible. Where seeds of seeking the essence will blossoming to magnificence.
This raw, unforgiving nature is what inspires us – this solitary place at the top of the world where we’ve made our brewery, our home. Our beer is improbable, unlikely – and quite unlike any other beer in the world.

Canned 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & Hrabren. Black coloured, medium sized brownish head, dried fruits and some alcohol in the nose. Light roasted malt, raisins, chocolate, faint wood, touch of vanilla and dry finish. Coal mine seems to be just a marketing trick.

0.33 l can thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Dark brown, small beige head. Aroma is roasty, dark fruit, blackberry, prunes, a hint of wood, oak, mineral and bourbon. Flavour is charred wood, roasted malts and burnt oak barrel. There's licorice and hints of leather. Also hints of dark fruit, very soft tannic astringency. Smooth, medium body, soft carbonation and texture, not boozy or cloying. Finishes dry.

330ml can (08704/13000), enormous thanks djoeye! Shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Pitch black body, creamy beige head, small but fairly lasting. Tart, creamy aroma, alcohol, dried fruit/raisins, low vanilla, quite sharp and not really appealing. Lean, dry taste, huge, huge roastiness, where's the barrel? Tastes like... err... coal - burnt wood maybe, black malt tartness some more, looow raisins. Where's the bourbon barrel? Where's everything else? Messy.

Can 0,33 ltr: Hazy orange colored brew with an mildly dry bitter taste with an little bit of sweetness. Hints of bloodoranges, caramel and something like resin. So this is an new country tick!?
