Black with a brownish head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavour is roast malts, chocolate and licorice. Roast malt fruits finish, dry stout base.

Can @ home. Pitch black body under a fine beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt, dark chocolate and some slightly boozy alcohol. Taste starts like sweet, dark roasted malt and dark chocolate, but then after a few more sips it does not feel so sweet anymore. The alcohol seems to make the beer dryer and the chocolate taste like very dry, dark chocolate. The bourbon flavor is moderate, but the alcohol sting is quite distinct together with some vanilla and wood. I guess this is not the first use of this bourbon barrel. Its not bad, but it might need some more sweetness to balance the alcohol.

keg pour at Skarven Bar, Tromso. It's black with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice & roasted malt. Medium body. Dry medium bitter finish.

330ml can. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, slowly diminishing, moderately lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity, slightly piney and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, pale and caramel malty background, hints of lemon, pineapple, some mandarine. Taste is moderately bitter, citrusy fruity and piney hoppy, hints of pineapple, lemon a touch of bitter orange, pale and caramel malty basis with low residual sweetness, mineral finish.
Oily texture, slightly dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Nice, oily mouthfeel, not much NEIPA character, mediocre hop flavours - meh!

330ml can. Cloudy, orange golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Yeasty fruity and slightly yeasty spicy aroma, minimally bready, wheaty malty background, grassy hoppy overtones, hints of banana, a touch of clove, apple, wheat crisp bread. Taste is wheaty malty with some residual sweetness, yeasty fruity and minimally yeasty spicy, minimally diluted hints of banana, some clove, leafy hoppy overtones.
Creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well balanced, focussed, very adequate flavours - enjoyable.
