Description
Blue Bee Cider is Virginia’s first urban cidery, located in the historic Scott’s Addition district of Richmond, VA. Our ciders are made with rare and heirloom Virginia apples prized for their tannin, acidity, and flavor. We respect – but also challenge – the traditions of the craft, uniting past and present to create an experience where all are welcome.

500ml bottle, purchased from Glen’s Garden Market. Poured a clear yellow color with no real head to speak of. Aroma is lots of herbal hop notes, with a touch of light bitter, crab apple notes. Flavor is very dry, wine like notes. Almost a woody barrel notes. Interesting.

375ml bottle from Total Wine McLean. Pours a crystal clear, champagne gold with a ring of white head and plenty of apparent carbonation. Nose was like a nice champagne, white grape, apple skins, apple juice, mild honey. Flavor follows, very grapey, apples, tart apple skins. Spritzy finish. Wife loved it.

500ml bottle from Total Wine McLean pours a clear, greenish gold with some head that faded quick. First off the nose is the lemon hop character, then it finally fades into standard cider, tart apples, some juicy apples too, mild honey, lightly earthy, lightly minty. Flavor follows, sweet, crisp apple, green apple skins, mild orange, mild lemon, honey, earthy vegetal notes. Crisp finish. Scary drinkable at 8%.
