500ml bottle, batch 100244, bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Deep dark ruby coloured body, lacing rings down the glass, bubbly beige head. Promising smell of prunes and dark malts. Quite well blended taste profile of prunes, bread, dark sugar and chocolate carefully spiced. Ends with mid-sweet dark malts, warming down the throat. Pretty good. (Tromsø 18.01.2020).

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Pours a noisy, chalk white head diminishing over a misty, late straw coloured body. Faint lacing. Spiced grain-fruity nose. Sweet ripe fruity flavours, moments of pears and orange, lightly spiced with coriander. Ends mid dry and rather sweet. Soft in the mouth. So and so. (Tromsø 12.01.2020).

Sample from bottle at Fridtjofen's Yule beer tasting. Pale straw colour, small white head. Weak to moderate witbier aroma, hints of orange peel, coriander seeds and grains of paradise. Quite nice flavour, citric and spicy, with the same elements. Not your typical Yule beer, but a decent witbier. Will re-rate if I have a full bottle.

Brygging på årets nest siste dag er unnagjort og gjæringsbøtta er båret ned, så da er det bare å hente frem litt snadder fra boden. Valget falt på denne 0,5 flasken innkjøpt på Landhandleri. Mørk, mørk brun (nesten brunsvart) med fint skum som varer. Mørke malter, ristet brød, knekk/brente mandler og en mild urtebitterhed. Hint av lakris og julekrydder. En lettdrikkelig og god juleøl som også falt i smak hos Kitty.

500ml bottle shared with Finn at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. Lacing rings down the glass from a steady off-white head. Pitch black body. Appealing aromas of dark malts and pine. Well blended taste of pine needles, ripe citrus, and chocolate malts. Malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Well bodied. Good drinking. (Tromsø 28.12.2019).

500ml bottle, batch nr. 100275, bought at Vinmonopolet Sentrum in Tromsø. Patchy surface, dark ruby-brown body, poor lacing. Rather vague smell of dried fruits and earthy malts. Mixed taste of biscuit, caramel malts and earth. Hints of sour bitterness to the finish. Accepted. (Tromsø 26.12.2019).

Forholdsvis pålitelige notater fra årets maritime juleølsmaking ombord på Fridtjofen: 0,5 flaske. Klar lys gylden med ok skum. En slank og lettdrikkelig øl med de obligatoriske wit-innslag av appelsin og koriander. Det er da ikke julekrydder? Tya is obviously aiming for a new standard in mediocrity.
