Thanks to JohnRMurdoch for a half of this one, cask at Pot Still. Dark ruby coloured body covered by a tiny, beige head. Malt-fruity nose. Dark fruity taste at first soften by caramel malts. Basic bitter ending. A good one (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

cask at cloister ... golden amber .... thin white head ... soft malt ... light fruit nose ... some chocoate and light roast ... nice full mouthfeel ... quite fruity ... this by far the best and only one to come close to the stout feel ... ome soft orange ... juicy ... thats really nice ...

Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, sweet chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, chocolate, coffee, dusty, coffee funnel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110429]

Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, berry notes, toffee notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, tea, laberlaver notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110429]

50cl bottle. Pours amber with a nice sized head and steady carbonation. The nose has digestive biscuites and a gentle toffee, maybe even caramel. The taste is toffee and biscuits, in fact it is a Crunchie Bar. The palate is medium bodied with a generous, creamy texture in the middle section and a nice dry finish. Overall, this is a great bitter.

Cask @ 12th Ayrshire Real Ale Festival, Troon 2011. Copper colour, tan head. Nose is slight roasted malts, caramel, nutty and a bit of fruits. Flavour of light roasted malts, caramel, citrus.

50cl bottle. Pours a beautiful opaque black with a 2 inch head. The nose has a very dominat note of instant coffee, though there is some chocolate too. The taste has more instant coffee, some very dark chocolate and a burnt note which kinda goes into liquorice. The palate is medium to full in structure with a creamy texture and there is a sharper finish though it seems to be based upon burnt malt rather than hops. Overall, a nice beer that could be sessioned.

50cl bottle. Light amber ale with some bubbles and some head. The nose has pine and grapefruit which slowly opens up to give a delicate sweet maltiness. The taste is of pine and soap. The palate is full and creamy with a long refreshing finish, in fact quite balanced. This is a nice beer of which I’d be delighted to drink at least a couple. There is loads of flavour for a session-strength ale.
