Description
Beoir Chorca Dhuibhne (West Kerry Brewery) is Kerry’s first micro brewery, established in 2008 by Adrienne Heslin, Ireland's First Female Micro Brewer.

We pride ourselves in combining water drawn from 150ft below the brewery, predominantly Irish malted barley, hops and fresh yeast, with a touch of botanicals from the garden and locality such as rosehips, elderflower, blackberries and black currants added to our seasonal beers. These give a unique flavour and identity, known as the Riasc Range alluding to the townland we are situated in.

500ml bottle at the pub. Pours and looks suspiciously like the Blonde Ale. Very light in colour and aroma, some grassy and biscuit hop aroma and some caramel malt there. Drinks like a Blonde too, very light on the palate, clean, delicate flavour. IPA? No Pale Ale? No Blonde? Perhaps

500ml bottle. Dark brown to black in colour, aroma of dark fruit and chocolate. Same flavour, a little more muted than I would like, but very elegant beer, doesn’t hit you over the nose. They do some very nice dark beers here, I love the malt profile on this.

500ml bottle. I’m beginning to think that this brewer uses the same hops in every beer, I’m getting the same grass and vegetal note that I got from some of their other offerings. Nice and smooth, almost lager-ish flavour and body. Ok, but not all that interesting.

500ml bottle. Pours a cola like colour into the tulip glass. Off white head that’s gone quickly. Very light in colour for a BIPA, and very little hop nose coming from the glass. More of a vegetal and grass note here. Smoother mouthfeel, almost porter-like, works as a porter more than a BIPA, very little roast as well, more nutty than anything else, again, veg and grass or hay. Not what I was hoping for to be honest, works well as a porter or maybe even a brown ale, not a BIPA however.
