Description
CRATE was established in 2012 when the Olympics were in full swing just over the canal, and Hackney Wick was changing fast. CRATE thrives on creativity, free thinking, and working hard. The experimental brewhouse is where all the Limited Edition beers are created.

Latest news November 2020:
The situation is complex, but it seems that there were two separate companies, one for brewing and one for the bar business. Both hit financial trouble, and the brewing company went into administration. Truman's, needing a new site due to delays with their new brewery, are currently brewing in Crate's old brewing space. But the website is still online and Crate beers are still available...

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. 5.8%. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is floral hops. The flavour is medium bitter with a thin bodied, hoppy, weak liqourice, citrus fruit palate and a short bitter finish. Needs a little more on the hop front I feel, but a decent session beer.
