Pours dark brown into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour chocolate aromas. Thin with soy, licorice and dark chocolate upfront turning to hot chocolate covered pit fruit in the lasting finish.

Pours a pale hazy lemon yellow straw from a can, nondescript sour citrus nose, similar flavor, rather one-dimensional, but crushable. Thin in the mouth. Okay beer.

Pours a hazy amber from a can. Big tropical fruit aromas settle in to papaya, mango, and even a coconut note in the mouth. Extremely well-balanced, I feel like it’s hard to stand out in a field of IPAs, but this is a very good beer.

Hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, strong bright hops with a floral and very piney scent and a good deal of fruit sweetness near the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive floral and piney hoppiness shows at first then is rounded out by the solid malt backbone and some well-structured and fruity sweet notes that show pears, apples and some apricots. Aftertaste shows the bitterness from the hops at first, but also some nice alcohol warmth and a bit of the fruit as well, which pairs well with all the hop bitterness. Overall, a well balanced and still pungent Imperial IPA with a solid profile and smooth complexity. Not one of the best I’ve had recently, but not awful! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, Vermont on 19-September-2016 for US$3,50 sampled at home in Washington on 18-February-2017.

Sampled @ Extreme Beer Fest, 4 Feb, 17. Deep black color. Aroma is almost only vanilla.
The flavor has a lot of vanilla through the center with a mild espresso bean finish. Body is correct for a standard base porter. Light creamy texture.
