Bottle from Taste of Northumbria. Appearance - deep amber to red with a lovely fluffy head. Nose - redcurrants and sweet malt. Taste - more sweet malt but fresh with it. Nice lingering redcurrant finish. Palate - close to medium bodied. Dry crunchy middle. Dry malt bitter finish. Overall - very nice.

Bottle from Brew Cavern, Nottingham. Pours almost black with a mid sized beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, slight nut and dried fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, average to soft carbonation.

500ml bottle from the Fat Mermaid, Amble. Pours clear copper with a thin off-white head. Aromas of dark malt and faint spiced orange. Taste is bitter orange and sweet dark crystal malt. Clean finish, if not too exciting.

Clear medium orange amber color with a small to average, frothy and open, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity malt, UK yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, caramel, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141009]
