Klar rød farge uten skum. Lukter mest rips men også noe bringebær. Lettdrrikkelig. Medium karbonert. Rips og bringebær også i smak.

Small bubbly shortlasting head, clear light reddish golden color. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, apple cores, flowers, hay, minerals, alcohol, grass, paper, apple peel, hints of red fruits. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, apple cores, minerals, alcohol, grass, flowers, hay, apple peel, red fruits, unripe apples. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle, 75cl. A still, clear, dark golden cider, headless. There's a good dash of alcohol on the nose, with apple scents dominating. Unripe apple, grass and apple cores, along with ripe apples and hints of apple jam. Some hints of wood and caramel. It's full bodied, warming, dry and bitter on the palate, bitter in an almost harsh way. Eating apples, bitter apples and some unripe apples and grass in the flavor. Woody, tannin-ish flavors too. Lasting finish. There's quite a lot of interesting stuff going on here, and I'm confident Balholm will produce some delicious cider from their foreign apples, but this one is too unbalanced. 210629

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Orange colour. Labeled as a "still naturcider", but pours sparkling with a shortlived white head. Aroma of eating apples and sour and bitter cider apples. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is quite dry and distinctly bitter with loads of tannins, the cider apples dominate.

Bottle, 75cl. A clear, orange-golden cider with some white bubbles disappearing after some seconds. Overripe apples, apple jam, hints of grass and some berry hints in the aroma. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and with a soft carbonation. Quite dry, yet with some residual fruit sweetness. Ripe apples, cellar or perhaps rather apple storage, berry notes, hints of grass and a wee touch of something lemony acidic. Medium length finish. Looking closer I see this cider is made with rhubarb and rose hips, guess that explains my berry associations. Anyway, sure a nice cider. 201231

Gammel rating (3000-4000) som ikke kom med fra Ratebeer. Smaking på Kurts Plata O Plomo Bar, Sørumsand.

Bottle. Clear golden body under a small white head that fades away immediately. Aroma has yellow apple with hint of sulphite and alcohol. Taste is a bit weak, mild acidic apple fighting for the attention against the alcohol, also some sulphite and slightly harsh. Medium body and aftertaste. Not the best cider from Balholm, decent first few sips when served cold, then the alcohol becomes to dominating as the temperature rise a bit.
