750 ml clear screwcap bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Clear rosé colour (more peach than pink), pours moderately sparkling. Moderate aroma of apples, rhubarb and rosehips.Distinct, fresh and splendid flavour of dessert apples, rhubarb and rosehips, a hint of sulphites. Demi-sweet and refreshing. Went very well with a dish of baked salmon, tomatos and potato salad with leek.

Bottle, 75cl. A still, clear, dark golden cider, headless. There's a good dash of alcohol on the nose, with apple scents dominating. Unripe apple, grass and apple cores, along with ripe apples and hints of apple jam. Some hints of wood and caramel. It's full bodied, warming, dry and bitter on the palate, bitter in an almost harsh way. Eating apples, bitter apples and some unripe apples and grass in the flavor. Woody, tannin-ish flavors too. Lasting finish. There's quite a lot of interesting stuff going on here, and I'm confident Balholm will produce some delicious cider from their foreign apples, but this one is too unbalanced. 210629

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Orange colour. Labeled as a "still naturcider", but pours sparkling with a shortlived white head. Aroma of eating apples and sour and bitter cider apples. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is quite dry and distinctly bitter with loads of tannins, the cider apples dominate.

Bottle, 75cl. A clear, orange-golden cider with some white bubbles disappearing after some seconds. Overripe apples, apple jam, hints of grass and some berry hints in the aroma. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and with a soft carbonation. Quite dry, yet with some residual fruit sweetness. Ripe apples, cellar or perhaps rather apple storage, berry notes, hints of grass and a wee touch of something lemony acidic. Medium length finish. Looking closer I see this cider is made with rhubarb and rose hips, guess that explains my berry associations. Anyway, sure a nice cider. 201231
