Very dark colour. Aroma is a coffeeish, smoky, roasty, appetizing nose. Has a sweet front, a light acidity from the coffee, a rich roasty character without bitterness (Timbertrain is one of the absolute best local roasters), creamy mouthfeel and a deliciously bitter, chocolatey finish. Very nice brew.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color, near black, small color. The coffee aroma is very nice. Dry mouthfeel, roasted malt and coffee flavor, nice but nothing exceptional. Goes well with fatty food.
Quite nice.

Very good aroma with a lot of coffee (or even a little bit coffee with milk). The same in taste - the coffee (with some milk) with roasted malt bitterness, some dark fruits. Good.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of espresso and roast upfront. Flavour is along the same lines, with monolithic coffee / espresso notes, followed by a touch of roast. Very espresso-y and a touch of roast make this extremely enjoyable. Body is medium-light, but there's enough body to complement the flavour profile. One of Russell's best beers. Very nice.

Bottle from Brewery Creek
Amber color, hazy. Like the color suggests, the beer is caramel based, but it’s not too heavy or sweet; it’s a bit biscuity too; the hop is bitter but doesn’t shine as fresh or particularly aromatic.
Not what is expected, but still a quite good beer.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out some citrusy, orangey fruitys, some resinous hops, and a little herbal and vegetal quality. Flavour is dryer, with notes of resinous and piney hops, and dry biscuity malt. Some sweet cereal notes on the finish. Not very interesting, but it's clean and drinkable.

Bottle - Sweet perfumy notes and sweet orange. Cloudy copper a decent white. Sweet and perfumy with a bitter finish. Some odd fruity notes but not too bad.

This was poured chilled but not too chilled into a glass and revealed almost no head I gota say; sure, a darker ruby body with no carbonation but there’s gotta be something enticing in the appearance, aintiright? The aroma is burnt barley to the extent of coffee notes, slight malted cardboard flavour. Flavour is typical amber in fact, some dark pumpernickel notes and a slight sharp barley finish. This is not one of Russell’s better efforts sadly and doesn’t shine above anything in the craft beer universe.

Bomber. Nice chocolate nose, caramel, touch of smoke. Glowing brown-red color. Malty flavor, some smoke and roast, fudge. bitter, hoppy finish. Very light bodied and a bit too carbonated.
