Bottle at RBESG 2014. It pours red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, brown bread, dried fruits and earth. The taste is bitter, toffee, dried fruits, twig, watery, mild spice and dirt with a short finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Sticky mouth-feel. Meh. Not much to it.

On cask at the Alibi Room (dry hopped with amarillo), pours a cloudy darkish orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh orangey hops, resting on a bed of wheat. Flavour is very juicy, with orangey hops, some caramel, and a faint glimpse of a wheaty backdrop. This doesn't strike me as a hef, but more of a hoppy ale of some kind. Decent stuff.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with light head. Aromas of nectarines, citrus, mangoes and . Fruity flavors of peach/apricot, citrus, and grape; plus candy, resin and light spice. Don’t get much of the hefeweizen but there are a lot of fruity hops. Nice summer beer.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine is pretty intense with light caramel malt notes also noticeable. Taste is also pretty heavy on the citrus notes with plenty of piney hoppy notes with some lightly sweet caramel malt that can be detected and a bitter finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable but unfortunately a tad too sweet for my taste.

Cask at Lions Pub, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color with frothy head. Nasty smelly aroma, feet and dirt. No carbonation, soft mouthfeel, some caramel flavor, but stale and smelly.
I actually think they may not maintain a proper clean line at the pub…

Bottle from Darby’s Liquor, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color with medium sized head. Nice aroma, fresh, fruity, peachy, but also with a bit more pungent touch, and some spices. Good body structure, soft mouthfeel, not too dry; the malt and wheat profile is not exciting; the hopping is more interesting, with lemony character, some hop resins, evidence of Citra; though it clashes a bit with the spiciness.
Appreciated because the Citra character is well showcased; good summer beer.

Cloudy tan, thick head. Aroma is pears, yeast, gummy pale malts and a dash of citrusy hop. Has a lot of weizen sweetness, grapefruit rind hop, but also a fair bit of dusty yeast and some ashy/burnt phenols that the hops are covering up. Still ok beer.

On tap at Catch 122, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out grassy hops, crackery notes and herbal notes. Flavour is exactly the same, with a herbal, grassy finish. Quite a decent pils.
