Description
Tutts Clump Cider is a family business that was set up in 2006 by Tim Wale. Tim (who is an Agricultural/Motor Engineer by trade) was born in the hamlet of Tutts Clump, West Berkshire in 1957 and still lives there. Tim is assisted by his wife and five daughters - two of whom are full time.

Cider making started as a hobby with production of some 25 litres. By 2013 we were using around 90 tonnes of home counties grown apples and crafting some 60,000 litres of Proper Cider which is increasing year on year (71,000 litres in 2019). We do not filter, pasturise or carbonate our products and the only additives are sucralose and sulphites in small quantities. We do everything in house and package in bottles, cans, bag in box, pouches, casks and kegs.

Sample thanks to Ed. Drunk sat along the river on a super hot day. Misty golden yellow, aroma is vibrant rich caramlised apple. Good vibrant apple fruit to taste, tart with nice soft textures and gentle orchard funk. Nowhere near as acidic as I feared and surprisingly drinkable for the strength! Good.

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place. The first rating my wife has ever been interested in drinking too. Aroma is initially sweet, followed by tart dry apple peel. A hazy bright tangerine orange. No head (on the cider). Medium sour with some underlying. Before the tangy sourness kicks up a notch into the finish. Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Long extremely dry finish. Enjoyably tart balanced out by a touch of sweetness.
