On tap at Merifield location. Pours pitch black with dark tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with chocolates. Flavor is a bit dry, but soon becomes that of malts, bittersweet chocolate, and some oatmeal. It’s pretty creamy, and was very refereshing.

Draft at Merrifield location. Light hazy coper color, thick white head. Caramels, malts in the aroma. Flavor is slightly citrus, with some fruit and malts. A pretty good lager type of beer, and coming from me that is pretty suprising (lagers make up most of my worst scores).

Draft at Merrifield location. Fantastic brew, light, golden clear color, with a thick white head. Malty aroma, with some fruits. Flavor is pretty light, and the that of caramel and honey. For being over 7.5 the alcohol is masked quite well.

A dark red-brown beer with a dense orange head, that leaves some lazing on the glass. The aroma is sweet with lots of chocolate, and lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is of coffee, vanilla and lightly of chocolate - reminds me of a speciality coffe roast.

A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is slightly yeasty combined with hints of hops. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, but also with an odd note, that I can’t describe, and light notes of metal, before a dry slightly hoppy end sets in. The bitterness is OK.

A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is very lightly wheaty - it was served very cold, which influences my ability to pick up the aroma. The flavor is sweet wheaty with light citrusy notes and a dry wheaty finish.

A light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has light notes of citrus, and some weird hop notes. The flavor is citrusy on a light malty back ground, and again with this weird hop note. No wonder the body is thin.

Sampled at RBSG06. Clear reddish copper color with a thin tan head. Aroma of sweet malt and floral hops. Flavor of sweet caramel with some sweet floral hops in the end.

Dark brown in colour with a slight watery look to it. Large-bubbled tan head that doesn’t look too promising. Aroma of slightly sweet roasted malt with some bitter nuttiness to it. Medium-bodied; Watery feeling with some roasted malt, coffee, a bit of nuts and little else. Aftertaste just bitters the palate, no sweetness is picked up in the aftertaste. Overall, a sub-par beer that should be passed for better options at a visit to the brewery. I sampled this pint from draught at the Centreville location on 30-November-2004 with good friend phil (haddon90).

Amber coloured body with crimson highlights when held up to the light and a thin off-white head. Aroma of strong hops, a mix of american and english. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppiness with a nice fresh taste and a light fruityness. Aftertaste shows some pleasant maltiness with a strong finish. Overall, a nice IPA, probably closer to an APA for me, but a good beer! I was happily surprised! I sampled this pint poured from draught at the Centreville location on 30-November-2004 with good friend Phil (haddon90).
