Currently on draft at Sweetwater Tavern, Merrifield, VA. Poured a heavily cloudy brown color. Aroma was some spice notes, touch of dark fruits and a tinge of citrus. Could tell that there was alcohol in there - so I sipped it through my entire dinner. Not as refreshing as I hoped, but decent.

Barrel aged, soured version sampled at the Lupulin Reunion 2012 at RFD. Pours a clear, bright red with some clump white head. Nose is neat, lightly sour, sour cherry, vitamin tablets, musty, light leather, orange. Flavor is strong, apples, pears, lactic acid, cherries, woody, sour mash. Slightly hot, acidic finish. Good wood characteristics, but not exactly oaky.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin rim of beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, caramel, alcohol, a bit of hops, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Sweet caramellish aroma, but also a sulphurous. Rich sweet body, loads of caramellish malts, some phenols and a little late hops. Doesn’t appear like a Bock at first, but gets more Bockish as it warms. 290512

Almost black, thin beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of chocolate strup with a bit of pine. Taste is bitter chocolate added to lager. I’m not sure the combo really works.
