Bottle, 9.99%. Malty and peppery aroma. Sparkling, cloudy brown colour. Big stable light brown head. The flavour starts off bitter and yeasty. It turns malty and creamy, then finishes with more bitterness and yeast. Aniseed aftertaste, which I do like, but it is not enough to save a fairly boring beer, especially considering the high alcohol content.

Bottle 10% as Kerst Snol. Good malty aroma, slightly spicy with notes of dark sugar. Looks hazy with a very dark chestnut colour. Big stable rocky off-white head. The flavour is sweet and malty with a good bitterness and some fruity notes. Dried fruit and a pleasant peppery alcohol finish. Pepper and cream aftertaste.

Bottle, 8.0%. Mild malty aroma, slightly oxidised. Hazy dark golden colour. Small frothy, but stable, white head. The flavour is yeasty and peppery. Good mouthfeel. Yeasty finish with a little peppery note as well. Tastes fairly authentically Belgian.

Bottle, 7.8%. Malty aroma, metal, dark bread, dark sugar. Almost clear dark copper colour. Big stable rocky off-white head. The flavour is dry and slightly metallic with a touch of acid. Quite disappointing. Could have done with a little residual sugar.

Bottle, 7,2%. Malty yeasty aroma, reminding me of my own happy homebrewing days. Black colour with a very big stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is bitter and jammy. I would say the bitterness is uncompromising to say the least. Not so pleasant bitterness. There is also some citrusy aroma hop, so to me it is a hoppy porter or a strong black IPA. Would have scored it 7.2, but it did not add up.
