Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop, Hamburg and consumed at home Saturday 11th April 2026, sat at the top of the garden on our swinging seat after a hard but enjoyable day of gardening, sunny today, lovely weather. We have Chicken Jalfrezi and Mushroom Fried Rice for tea. Pours pale yellow/gold with a mid/large clean white head. Nice yeastiness on the nose, some fruitiness also a touch floral. Light sweetness, there's a grassy bitter bite, dry throughout, fruity in the mouth, mostly citrus with lemon and grapefruit notes, dry finish, v.good, Score: 7.6

Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop, Hamburg and consumed at home Saturday 11th April 2026 after a day of gardening, lovely day today. We had Chicken Jalfrezi and Mushroom Fried Rice, listening to Stuart Maconie standing in for Craig Charles on the Funk and Soul Show on 6Music. Pours gold with a large white head, it appears to be clear. Tropical notes, certainly fruity and with a maltiness also. Sweetness initially with malt and a little pineapple showing. It's a touch to sweet for me, bitterness is there but could be more assertive, good beer but another West Coast that doesn't quite feel like a full on westy for me. Score: 7.3

Can that I picked up from Craftbeershop Parchim Germany and consumed at home Friday 10th April 2026 after cooking Wadadli Kitchen Curry Mushrooms from the Pepperpot Diaries cookbook, listening to 6Music. Pours black the head disappeared swiftly so unsure of appearance. The aroma is dusty but peanut dust or similar. Thick oily texture in the mouth, there's a tang, chocolate, bitterness and a little dark fruity edge. Just read the description and yeah says peanut and also caramel which I don't detect. All told a decent beer but a bit too artificial re; flavourings. Score: 7.0

We visited Shuffledog on Friday 13th November 2015. For those familiar with the area this is at the top edge of the centre if you know where Belgrave Music Hall is well this is sort of diagonally opposite over the wrong side of the Mway though at this point the Mway runs underneath here but there is still a busy intersection to negotiate. You can see Shuffledog from Belgrave Music Hall and vice versa, as with many Brewdog bars this is situated on a corner, from the outside it looks quite an historic building. It was a wet and windy day, squally showers and blustery winds were the order of the day today. It was dead when we arrived, throughout the duration of our time here and when we left we were the only people here drinking and were outnumbered by staff 3-2. The layout is familiar to anyone who has visited a Brewdog bar, so lots of industrial looking decor and furniture. Lots of glass provides ample natural light, the squared off sort of horseshoe shaped bar is centrally placed and the now familiar cinema style beer display boards show the current offerings, of which to be fair this bar offered a good selection of taps. The staff were friendly enough though probably a bit bored, we never went in search of the Shuffleboards which I think are on another floor (downstairs?) it was fine but just suffered from a total lack of atmosphere, maybe it is still finding its feet.

Bottle courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewery in the last box that he sent. Had this Saturday 4th April 2026 listening to Patrice Baumel on Tidal after a Lamb & Wild Garlic Lasagna. Pours looking just like a dirty muddy puddle, I also didn't see a head .After the slightly disappointing start the taste is actually very good, the nuttiness comes through, there's a nice thickness in the mouth, smooth, creamy, light milk chocolate, it's very moreish. Barrel ageing is subtle. Like this, just wished the appearance was better. Score 7.4

Can picked up from Craftbeershop, webshop, Parchim, Germany, consumed at home Sunday 29th March 2026 after another hard day (actually half day) of gardening (mostly cutting back the old apple tree). We're making Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup, also a Chorizo, Fennel and Potato Soup also a Mushroom and Madeira Soup and a Roasted Cauliflower Soup, we're also going to make a Broccoli Soup 😄, it's soup Sunday. Listening to the new album from Deadletter - Existence is Bliss. Pours hazy warm gold with a large white head, nicely bitter, in fact the bittersweet balance is excellent. Sweetness, malty initially with a lengthy bitterness and a pithy slightly drying finish. A little piney and resinous, this is one of the better German West Coast IPAs that I've had recently. Score: 7.8

Bottle picked up from Beyond Beer webshop, Hamburg, consumed at home Saturday 28th March 2026 after a hard day of gardening (mostly cutting back the old apple tree). We had a Greek meal tonight, Chicken Souvlaki, Greek Salad, Pittas, Roasted Potatoes. Listening to the new album from Seamus Fogerty - Ships. Pours very dark brown edging towards black with a beige head. The Speyside cask certainly leaves it's mark, that said it's not in yer' face. Smooth and easy drinking for the abv, chocolate and a little liquorice combine. Like the others in this series it's not showy but it's a solid effort. Score: 7.4

We've got a Greek meal tonight, Chicken Souvlaki, Greek Salad, Pittas, Roasted Potatoes. Listening to the new album from The Notwist - News From The Planet Zombie. Pours lemony gold, slight haziness, large white head. It's a decent stab at a Westy, however you can kind of guess that it's from a brewery who really are more attuned to brewing NEIPAS, that said it's got a pleasant bitterness, it's a bit on the sweet side, a touch tropical rather than resinous or piney, it's a v.good beer but if someone asked me, I would suggest it's not a great example of the style. Score 7.5
