Bottle picked up from online order at Craftbeer shop, Parchim, Germany and consumed at home, Tuesday 17th March 2026 listening to ByteFm and heating up a freezer meal of Beef Carbonnade, Cauliflower Cheese, Lemony Roast Potatoes and Carrots. Pours light amber, hazy, carbonation a little bit lacking. Soft mouthfeel, sweet maltiness but there is a pleasant playful smokey edge, nice and despite a few shortfalls I am enjoying this. Score 7.3

We visited here Friday 22nd August 2025 as we were here for a music festival over the weekend. This place is in the heart of the old town and serves the local Gold Ochsen Beer, three of which were on tap and three in bottle, beer quality was excellent. This is a great place to people watch as I recall it was pedestrian only here, we watched the comings and goings of a little shop diagonally opposite, the shop owners dog laid out watching the world go by then occasionally following people into the shop or along the street for a few metres. Back to the pub/restaurant, there's a heavy focus on food and it's very traditional in that sense, though they were very happy with us just having a beer. In terms of the layout, I seem to recall we only nipped in to use their facilities, it's very olde worlde, lots of wood, it was nice just sitting outside. The service was a little bit slow and a little indifferent, but regardless it's a nice place and good place to try the local beers.

Bottle that I picked up from TripelB Worcester and consumed at home Saturday 14th March 2026 watching a film called Substance on Amazon Prime MUBI after Fin and Loz's Spicy Pork & Fennel Polpette Cannelloni for tea. Pours shark eye black with a mid sized beige head. Roasted malts doninate the aroma but the barrel ageing is also noted..Taste following a similar trajectory, but there's chocolate, bitter cocoa and a slight dark fruity tang amongst the roasted malts. These Black Damnation beers can be very hit and miss, the last one I had was a miss but this is a hit, it's nicely done, nothing over the top about it, v.good. Score: 8.0

Bottle picked up from Hereford Beer House, had this at home watching a film called Sirat, we had Sausage Stuffed Giant Pasta Shells for tea, Friday 13th March 2026, after an hour out in the garden removing the stones off the grass that the tractors had inadvertently put there in snow piles. This beer pours a deep golden actually it's more amber-brown colour looks lovely. Nice aroma but as expected quite complex, with clear barrel notes and vinous notes also caramel and dark dried fruit such as raisins and figs and a little leather. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, the aforementioned dark fruits and soft caramel come to the fore. Nice sweetness but this is balanced by a woody twang and a warmth, those vinous fruity touches come through again, and there's a lingering wine-like note. Lovely stuff, everything that I expected and more. Score 8.3

Bottle that I picked up from Kloster Andechs shop today Tuesday 10th March 2026. This is a beer that has eluded me until now, I'm not sure that it's a particularly difficult beer to find but despite my best efforts this is the first time I've come across it. Tastewise it's solid, nice sweetness, strength is well hidden, it's 7.0%. It's mid yellow/gold, a little hazy, busy carbonation at first but this then subsides rapidly, admittedly it's not perfect serving temperature and it was in my bag earlier. Some wheatiness shows, a little toffee. I like it but there are others that are better, would be good to try on draft. Score: 7.1

On tap at Brauhaus Herrsching, Tuesday 10th March 2026 after a walk from Herrsching S-Bahn to Kloster Andechs Bräustüberl and then back down to here. Pours gold, possibly unfiltered, sweetness and maltiness but a solid Helles, soft mouthfeel, very easy drinking. The bitterness comes through eventually, it's a good beer..Score 7.3

Had this Tuesday 10th March 2026 after a walk up from Herrsching and Amersee on a glorious sunny ☀️😎 day. Pours chestnut brown, excellent clarity, mid/large off white head. Taste is malty with a little caramel and dark bread, the aroma is more malt driven. Nice bite to this, caramel again showing, lightly bitter. Good stuff. Score: 7.4

Bottle picked up from TripelB Worcester and consumed at home Saturday 7th March 2026 watching the Gordon Ramsay series on Netflix. Pours shark eye black there was barely a head to be noticed so cannot comment on this as didn't see the colour of any bubbles or film. Aroma is bitter cocoa, I also pick up some of the barrel ageing and of course roasted malts. Taste is following a similar trajectory, peaty but not aggressively so, a little tart and tangy. This follows a very different direction to most modern Imperial Stouts and whilst I applaud that because it's not cloyingly sweet (I'm looking at you here Vault City) it's nonetheless a bit dull, well made bit lacks a spark.Score 7.3
