From March 11th 2007:

Pours from 22oz bottle(room temp) a clear deep amber with a huge head of foam that just won't quit. Solid layer with lots of lacing.

The smell is very hoppy. I note grapefruit in big abundance.

The taste on first sip is hugely hoppy. Lots of citrus that makes your mouth want to pucker but just before it does, the malt moves in and somewhat tames the hops. No, more than that. The malt actually takes over the flavour and I'm not talking really sweet caramel malt...wait...yes I am. Wow. You fooled me. ;^) Boy, is this a treat.

Further sips in and I'm getting more of the balanced flavours but mind you, while the hops and malt seem to be working in unison, I cannot deny that the said flavours are as big and bold as the great outdoors. Like the label says, this is an aggressive beer and it refuses to let you just sit there and reach a comfort zone; when you're sipping on it, it takes center stage and all others things going on around you become mere side shows. What an egotistical brew and...I'm loving it!

Bottom line: A fantastic brew that will earn your attention whether you wish to or not. Highly recommended!

Last bottle in Casper. 02-2026 on the label.

Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a huge head of foam, excellent retention and lacing.

Smell spicy, fruity, candi sugar, some caramel malt, earthy.

Taste is malty, some spice and fruit, earthy, more malt with some sweetness, bitter almost all in the finish for me. Unusual.

Great mouthfeel.

Sad that the brewery is closing.

Growler from Liquor Shed in Casper.

Pours pitch black, short lived head of foam, no lacing.

Bourbon, roasted malt, caramel malt and maple with a wee bit of oxidation.

Taste is Bourbon, roasted malt, rather sweet, no bitterness, maple, toffee, slight oxidation of the good kind.

Body is full, carbonation is there but light.

Aged very well.

Bought locally from Cy Discount Liquor.

Pours a clear straw gold with an inch of foam after it settles down. Good retention and lacing.

Smells distinctly hoppy in a Bitburger way. Light spiciness, some bread notes

Taste is, again Bitburger like. Noble. Crisp, clean and dry.

Body is fine for the style. 4.8% abv makes it very drinkable and yes, I would definitely buy this if I saw 6packs.

Filled February 11th 2025.

Pours a clear gold with an inch of foam, good retention and lacing.

Big notes of citrus in the smell, some toasted malt and sweetness, overall indicator is hoppy and somewhat bitter.

Taste yep, hoppy as in dry hopped, loads of citrus notes, tangy with maybe orange zest, light toasted malt and light sweet notes.

Lively carbonation brings some tingling on my tongue.

Very nice. Would I seek it out? Probably not.
