12.7 oz bottle from Reserve Society. Aroma is apples, cognac, raisin, molasses, plum. Pours dark brown with a half finger beige head that settles into a ring and skiff fairly quickly. Taste is sweet and surprisingly tart with beautiful barrel aged flavors accentuated by the apples. It warns the belly, but it’s by no means “hot” in a boozy sense. Excellent and delicious.

16 oz can. Aroma is cantaloupe, pine, grapefruit peel. Pours murky orange-ish yellow with a one+ finger cream-white head with great retention. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness counterpointing the NEIPA sweetness, which is thankfully somewhat subdued compared to many examples out there. Well done.

24 oz can from work. I will never pass up a free tick. Poured into a Christmas glass, even though it’s July. Aroma is cherry cough drops, maraschino cherry. Pours clear ruby red with an immediately collapsing crackling pink head. Taste is sweet and lightly tart with flavors of cherry slushie, completely artificial of course.

Taste is balanced—moderately sweet with plenty of bitterness as counterpoint. Very roasty. Packed with flavor—coffee, dark bread, dark chocolate, dried fruit.

16 oz can. Aroma is caramel, butterscotch, whiskey, wet stone, nuts. Pours black with a half finger beige head that reduces to a ring fairly quickly (I didn’t notice the directions for pouring until after I cracked it open). Taste is sweet with flavors of Irish cream and whiskey. Carbonation is soft. Not a fan of nitro beers.
