Amber with a creamy, white head. Aroma promises tangerines and mild, grainy tones. Taste is mildly bitter and quite citric with a touch of fruit candy sweetness underneath. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, refreshing despite the 7.2%. A good one!

Feel almost bad rating this since it was first frozen, distorting the can, then battered by long rail and plane journeys! Amber with a foamy head. Aroma promises caramel with orange peel overtones. Taste is bittersweet, with a citric bitterness nicely balanced by the caramel malt underneath. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, good chewiness. A buy again even after all that battering.

Consumed on Day 4 of the Verendrye expedition. Far too tepid due to the lack of cold water for chilling. Virtually black. Foamy beige head. Pine aroma. Touch of chocolate. Bitter bordering on acrid finish. Rich and chewy body. Sweet undertones. Wish this had been better chilled. Not refreshing but quite interesting.

Consumed on Day 4 of the Verendrye route. Drunk far too tepid due to warm lake temperatures. Dark brown. Foamy light brown head. Coffee and coffee grounds aroma. Taste is bittersweet with a bitter coffee grounds finish. Straightforward coffee stout lacking much in the way of nuance.

Pale gold with a mild haze. Herbal aroma promises rosemary, spruce and dankness. Taste has a very mild lime bitterness. Faint lingering herbal flavors. A bit watery. Harmless but drinkable.

Gold with a haze and a foamy, white head. Aroma promises grains, caramel, citrus, pears and a measure of dankness. Taste is bitter with a citric twist and a grainy feel at the end. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mildly watery texture. Goes down easy.
