Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Srawberry Funnel Cake from Penn Brewery

Had this on tap at Penn Brewery Pittsburgh Airport. It pours a clear pale yellow like any other common beer. Very slight real strawberry perfume for the nose. Well, I was expecting some sort of cloying pastry brew but this stuff really blew my mind. Nice tart friendly initial taste. Yummy. Slightly sour & clean. Yes, some strawberry sweetness along with a little waffle cone, but this is nothing to sneeze at, its well balanced and delicious. JMHO. Not cloying at all, leads with a co2 sizzle and cutting palate. Slight warming sensations in the middle. Wow, I'm liking this. Got to be one of the better brews I've had from Penn, and they make some good stuff. Nice job PB! I need to go get a few more of these.

Sarris Peanut Butter Meltaway from Penn Brewery

Had this on tap at Penn Brewery in the Pittsburgh International Airport. Very dark brown pour, almost coal opaque black. Nice tan head. Nose is mouth watering peanut butter. Initially, this stout is easy going and hides any alky content well. Smooth peanut butter candy papate that coats the inside of your mouth, just like the meltaway candy. Sweetness is good up front but gets just a tad cloying near the finish. Not bad overall, a great tick!

Can, total wine st pete. Pour is lively near clear very light pale. Very slight bandaid nose. First impression is a very light beer, quite friendly and lively. Pleasing to the palate. Perhaps a hint of bandaid in the flavor, but its not distracting. Interesting and well balanced golden blonde, I'm actually liking this stuff. Very refreshing on a hot sunny day in seminole florida. Could drink a few of these. Near the finish, the bandaid thing increases a little but never gets in yer face. Good job TG for a well behaved & balanced very enjoyable blonde goldie.

Fish Camp from Veterans United Craft Brewery

Can from total wine st pete. Pour is slight haze on pale. Nose is clean fresh pils. Oh, first taste impression is strong near phenol bitter sharp bite. Big surprise. Lots of big pointed pils bitterness fer sher, whew. Heavy duty, baby. I find this somewhat rude character in many domestic attempts at a pils. Yes, a little difficult to enjoy. It certainly is the overriding factor of this beer. Even the carbonation has no effect on civilizing this session. The real old country pilsners are much more well behaved than this. Quite an impact on my senses. OK for a tick, but will not buy again. Description says 'easy drinken'.... I'm not so sure. I thought their scout dog and raging blonde were a much better brew than this.
