Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Can from total wine, $2. Pour is very light pale. Decent white head at first. Mild sweet fresh lager nose. Decent carbonation on the uptake. Flavor is slight blast furnace slag mixed with a little bit of grandma's permanent hair treatment. Quite well behaved for a lighter pale lager but I've had many other macro light pale lager american beers that were much more enjoyable and satisfying. Those other beers were only a dollar a can or less. There you have it.

$1.50 can at Total Wine St Pete. Slight haze with a nice creamy foamy head that goes craggy. Grats to the look of this stuff. Some pine aroma on the nose. First impression on the buds is this does not really have any session IPA character. Its most IPA I would say; yer typical lighter IPA flavors. Bitter, nasty rude, but a little less so; that is, until you get to the finish. Then, the nasty nellie terribly on style bitter IPA feel sets in. Compared to other eye pee aye, this stuff also has a little more appreciated co2 in there. There you have it, a bitter beer that an IPA lover may like but a macro pale lager lover may not.

Can, popped the lid and it squirted foam foam all over the place! Pour is hazy pale; looks like hazy IPA. Lots of green chili pepper in the nose. First taste is clean apple cider followed up by lots of green chiles flavor. Interesting and refreshing. No real heat to speak of, just simple chile pepper flavor on top of apple cider. Yes, I'm liking this, it comes across as something totally unique and well balanced. Very good level of carbonation as well. Tartness begins to come thru in the middle. Goes down so easy a pleasant. Nice job there Austin's! One of the better ciders I've had in a while. Can was gone before I knew it! I'll gt a sixpack next time I see this on th shelf.

3$ can from total wine. Eye is near clear pale, rapidly fading white thin head. Nose is mild slightly sweet blend of warm & spicy. Taste boozy near cloy pepper & spice. Mouthcoating yeasty & medicinal with no real inkling of citrus nor mint. Some floral hints near the middle. Clement carbonation helps this out on the finish. In the end its quite a unique brew, but perhaps not my cupppah tea. Many other real old world tripels such as; Kapittel Tripel Abt 10, Naked Elf, Church Brew Millennium and ChimayTriple Blanche Cinq Cent are more civilized than this. There, you have it.

Bottle, $2 from Chalet Premier. Pour is big and black, large and in charge. Creamy tan head fades to pond scum. Nose is all bananas and no stout, interestingly sweet. Big heavy impy stout impact on the taste buds followed up by a bruising banana bang, very unique fer sher. Volatile palate, does not hide alky smash. Quite a crashing turbulent slamming jolt, whew. Not as pastry as many domestic pastry stouts but pastry none the less. Yes, like whisky laced banana pie. Can't find any walnuts or ice cream, but bumping bananas fer sher. Mouth coating unstable and uneasy. I bet Richard Foster, Owen Brennan and the New Orleans Crime Commission would appreciate this mess of an alky bomb. Extra point for the brain numbing effects.

$2 can from total wine cary. Slightly hazy pour whose white head fades quickly. Nose clean fresh beery pilsner nose. First swig reveal medium sharp pilsner bite and its not over the top or in your face like many high impact domestic pilsners. Just s little more personality than the national bohemian american macro. In the middle its acceptable and easy to drink, yet it still lets you know its a pils quite like the old country. Decent level of co2 thru the session. over good finish in the end. Not bad, could possibly do another.

Can, slight hazy pale with a big foaming head. Slight hop perfume for a nose. First taste is quite bitter, you know its IPA. As session continues, getting some of that veggie taste in there. Pretty good level of co2. In the middle, its a little sharp bitter with some phenoilcs coming forward. Yes, its getting a little annoying. OK for a tick, but IPA aint my thing. Finish is session IPA. Not sure what's up with this style. If I'm gonnah to torture my taste buds, better have some alky in there.
