  IPA - Session Regular

ABV: 4.5% IBU: - Ticks: 8
Session ales were historically intended for long, afternoon drinking sessions, without the obvious ill effects of high alcohol. Yield combines that low ABV with the multifaceted hop character of an IPA. A honeyed backbone, from Pilsen malt, underpins its soft flavors of pine and citrus.

Can, slight hazy pale with a big foaming head. Slight hop perfume for a nose. First taste is quite bitter, you know its IPA. As session continues, getting some of that veggie taste in there. Pretty good level of co2. In the middle, its a little sharp bitter with some phenoilcs coming forward. Yes, its getting a little annoying. OK for a tick, but IPA aint my thing. Finish is session IPA. Not sure what's up with this style. If I'm gonnah to torture my taste buds, better have some alky in there.

Aromas are a blend of citrus, resin, malt, and a bit of sweat. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet going dry and bitter. Add in a bit of MJ and slightly chewy. Good carbonation. Not much of a fan of session IPAs but this isn't too bad.

Can at the 2nd test tasting, H'zmere, 16/07/20 thanks to Fergus. Hazed golden orange with a big ole off white head formed of tightly knot bubbles. Nose is grass, orange pith, toasted malts, melon. Taste comprises tangerine, melon, light pine dusting, soft malts, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy hop bitterness. Decent refreshing session gear.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours cloudy, glowing orange-gold with a big, frothy white head. Lightly sweet, some restrained citrus fruits, tangerine, light rindy bitterness, orange pulp, background crispy pale malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty well balanced finish, more rounded citrus, light pithy dryness, more rindy bitterness, low sweetness. Very drinkable.

3 week old can A: Very thickly hazed pale brownish orange pour with a small quickly falling beige head. S: Light pine with grapefruit and lemon zest and pulp. T: Light bitterness to a very tropical hop burst featuring pineapple, peach and some green apple along with citrus pith. Dry cracker malts make an appearance near the end. M: Light but somehow thick texture with low carbonation level. O: A highly touted brewery but I found this mostly average overall. And while the cans are dated, the box is not, which is retarded.
