Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Big pounder can for $3 at chalet premier. Hazy pale, thin white head. Oddly, not much aroma but if I really sniff it, maybe I get some milky malt, not sure. Taste is big time IPA of course, bitter as ever and terribly on style. Decent level of carbonation too! Makes it just a little more tolerable for my girlie macro lager loving taste buds. Middle is building bitter. Slight warming sensations. Rising to the level of unpleasant, disgusting, awful, rudely obnoxious and vile. What is it with these IPAs? Tropical hints? IDK. Just straight up ass impolite, discourteous, disrespectful, ill-mannered, and uncivil. There, you have it. Good thing it has some ABV, makes this tick worthwhile for the 3$.

White Rajah - Jalapeño from The Brew Kettle Brewery (Middleburg Heights, United States 🇺🇸)

From a pounder can for 3$. Hazy pale with a white head that fades. Nose is certainly jalapeno peppers, the kind from a jar. Medium strong IPA feel with heat as an afterburner. In the middle, I think the pepper has tamed this back from its IPA intent, its more like a stronger APA than an IPA. Yea, I really don't care for IPA but I find this almost tolerable. I do like brews with heat in them ans this is a good example. I bought this mostly for a tick and I'm finding it better than expected. Medium hoppy finish and heat lingers nicely! Not bad for an IPA pepper beer.

Pounder can from chalet for $3. Serious big black pour with a choco moose tan head. Head goes craggy and remains. Nose is strong coffee, even on the head. Initial impression is a fairly flat coffee with a warming sensation. Yes cool strong somewhat burnt black coffee. Think the coffee you get as the last drop from a pot that has been sitting on the burner all day. Big bad ass flavor that cannot be mistaken for anything else. Reminds me a little of that whisky coffee my grampa used to drink when he was watching studio wrestling after dinner on his black and white TV. Beer? I really don't get any beer in this, its simply overwhelmingly unbalanced coffee in yer face. Long bitter finish There, you have it. Its way to much for me.

Pounder can, darker orange tint. The photo here at brewver actually makes it look darker than it really is. Nose is sharper green pine cone. Reminds me of a fresh cut Christmas tree of sorts. First taste is as terribly bitter as any coarse discourteous uncouth IPA. Rude crude and boorish. Think turpentine, diesel, rotting fermented green grapefruit rinds and strongly bittter pungent chewing on fresh real rubber motorcycle innertube. This style is so difficult. I was never man enough to say I like it. My peers always said that I'd appreciate this stuff once my taste buds matured. Well, I guess my buds are still a baby. Finish is strenuous, arduous, onerous, burdensome, demanding, punishing, grueling and grinding. But at least it does have a decent co2 level for a change that keeps it from being medicinally mouth coating. Oh well, there, you have it; the words of a macro lager lover with girlie taste buds. And, it does have a decent alky level that makes worth more than a drain pour, hehehhehh.

4/10 — Appearance 3 Aroma 4.5 Flavor 4 Texture 3 Overall 4.5

Pounder can for 3$. Pour is nearly clear lemon yellow with a nose of citrus on the lemon side. Decent half inch white head. First taste does possess that typical medium pils bite. In the middle, that pils sharp bite really begins to set in. Not as good as many old style pils from across the ocean but it holds it own. Finish needs a few manners if it wants to keep up with Portsmouth Pils, Gizmo Dad's Jokes or even Erie's Hard Cock Pilsner. There, you have it.
