Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

The can label on this has changed many times over the years. Mine is somewhat like the one pictured. Pour is light haze on light pale, almost like a witbier. Nose is very mild lemon on an otherwise light ale nose. First taste is whew, maybe not like the sweet or tart shandies I've got used to over the wears. Its more like yer typical dull fruit beer. I think to call this a shandy may be in error, think a bad macro lager that had some unsweetened and not tart lemon flavoring tossed in to make up for the poorly brewed pale lager. Finishes with a medium bitter astringent processed feel. There, you have it. Will not buy again.

On tap at altered genius. What a beauty of a pour, perfectly clear burgundy. Ever so slight wine like nose. Mild fruity up take on the first taste. Not sweet but still, some of the flowery impact with fruity overtures. Yes, the hibiscus and rose hips carry over more like a fruity backbone. Needs more co2, finishes nearly flat.

On tap at Altered Genius. Hazy pale. Just a mild hint of cherry blossoms, but mostly the nose of plain apple cider. Easy going and quite dry. The alky is well hidden in this, you'd never know it was near 7%. Needs more co2, practically flat. Mostly the flavor of a good cider, hard to find the blossom in this. Civilized finish with just a tad of a processed feel on it in the end.
