Retired American Luddite and refugee of the 2018-2024 Ratebeer/Anheuser-Busch (InBev) fiasco. Thanks Brewver for the chance to continue rating! ....... and yes, I'll soon be a supporter! ........ Since 1968, I've enjoyed all kinds of cheap macro pale lagers, starting with Carling Black Label bottles I found in Grampa Gino's wine cellar! Later, my dad had faves like Old Mil, Strohs, Bud, Coors Light and Piels! They were all good for a budding youngster like me. My ratings aren't to style, but how much I liked it. Thus, my fave styles; lambic, wild & flemish, rate much higher than IPA since I don't like bitter hoppy beers. You like IPA? The lower my IPA rating, the better according to style! There, you have it! Easy peezy, no worries!

Oberon Light Ale from Bell's Brewery (Galesburg, United States 🇺🇸)

Skinny can from Giant Eagle Moon. pour is virtually clear lighter pale. Light citrus nose, like grapefruit perhaps. Good flavor on the uptake, just a little hint of that bitter wheat ale, ill characteristic firmly suppressed. Citrus shines thru in the middle. Wow, almost refreshing as I near the end. Well behaved for a wheat ale. I'm not one for wheat ales, but this one is coming across just fine. Some orange coming out towards the finish. Good level of cutting co2 to the end. I'll have to get another in the future.

Grateful Dead Juicy Pale Ale from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (Milton, United States 🇺🇸)

Pint can, lighter color pale slight haze. Nice big craggy white head does not fade. Nose is slight pine hop perfume. Taste is mild IPA fer sure. What is it with all this juicy stuff? Its kindah flat. I'm so tired of seeing hoppy beers labeled juicy. Its happy BS if you ask me. If I want juice, I'll drink juice. This is not juice nor juicy JMHO. Just because its bitter, a little syrupy and somewhat sweet, does not necessarily make it juicy. Go figger. Foolish moron, jackass idiot, blockhead dolt dunce. Oh well, its just another IPA-ish APA. If you want it to be an IPA, then say so. Forget about the facade of a style you designate on the can. Most APA are simply better behaved than this juicy crap. There, you have it.

Dry Irish Stout Nitro from Left Hand Brewing Company (Longmont, United States 🇺🇸)

Pounder can with a widget inside. Yes, this is one beautiful pour! Black, large and in charge with choco moose head that never fades. Nice chocolate malt nose. Of course, this is totally flat, and I typically don't like flat beers but this one has some positive attributes. The uptake is smooth and very gentleman-like with good body and nothing watered down. Some chocolate taste on dark malt, with just a hint of tartness. Been a while since I had a nitro tout but this is certainly just like what you'd get out of a nitro tap. Mellow, smooth, easy, with solid non offensive dry stout character. I just help thinking how much better this would be if it had some good cutting co2.

Pounder can for $3. Pour is clear very light pale. Nose is oddly attractive pale lager. First taste is slightly spiced pale macro lager. Not sure about the jasmine, if its there, its laid back where you can barely detect it. Can't really find anything negative about this brew except that its quite flat on the palate. Second glass has some fine carbonation, but could use more. Tho advertised as something quite special, I just find this brew to be another simple pale lager.
