Can from Against The Grain. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, spring onion, flower petals and grass. Flavour of lemon, lemongrass and Smirnoff Ice. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. This is as good as I hope it would be - it’s juicy, subtly sour and has lovely hippy flavours.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of papery malt, cornflakes and orange pith. Flavour follows suit - it’s more papery than fruity. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A disappointing IPA. Polly’s hoppy beers are either weirdly papery/pithy or world class hop juice.

Can from Great Grog. Hazy deep golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of papery malt, black pepper and orange pith. Flavour follows the aroma - peppery and orangey. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. This is rough around the edges but quite enjoyable. It’s not really a west coast IPA at all.

Can from Aldi. Hazy golden body with a white head that slowly fades. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of orange barley, lemon and ginger. Flavour of sugar, ginger and a squeeze of grapefruit. Thin body with a slick texture. Light fizz. This is tasty and less fiery/intense than the orange version (which I also liked).
